• Articulation and Speech Disorders

Articulation and speech sound disorders refers to a child’s ability to produce speech sounds correctly in order to be understood. There are different types of articulation disorders and each are treated uniquely. The American Speech and Hearing Association, or ASHA, is a resource to learn more.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

We help our clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD, with the social aspects of communication as well as the linguist aspects if needed. Every person with ASD is different and each client’s therapy is tailored to thier needs. Visit the Autism Speaks website for more information and resources.

  • Cleft Lip and Palate/VPD

Cleft lip and palate and Velopharyngeal Disorders (VPD) are areas of specialty for our clinic. The articulation needs of children with cleft lip and palate/VPD are different from other speech disorders and do require specialized care. Our therapists work closely with the cleft and VPD teams in the Denver area to ensure the best care for our patients and their families.

  • Developmental Delays

Sometimes children struggle with speech and language development as part of a larger syndrome, such as Down’s Syndrome, or other global developmental delays. We work with these children, their families, and other providers to maximize their communication potential.

  • Language Disorders

Language disorders are different than speech disorders, and a person can have just one or both. A language disorder is when a child has difficulty understanding what is said and/or using the right words and combing them into sentences. This ASHA resource has more information on this topic.

  • Bilingual Therapists

Communication disorders can effect all children, but the same disorders become more complex when a child speaks more than one language. We have clinicians who are multi-lingual and able to provide direct services in English, Spanish and French. Outside of these languages, we are also experienced in working with interpreters if needed, and are sensitive to the different needs of dual language development regardless of the languages spoken. Please visit this ASHA resource for fostering bilingual language development.
